Track 4 Punta Rock in Dangriga 18 November 2009
After our foray into the West African side of Belize, we went back to the Main Street to check out the Punta Rock
set. The band was the Turtle Shell Band, living up to their name, as the main percussionist wore a coat of Turtle Shells, also used
as drums. The band took the traditional Punta Rhythms and electrified them, adding vocals, bass and guiitar.
We stayed and danced for a while with a group of people we had met from Chiapas.
This track is a clip of the band-it's a little cloudy, with street sounds and my laughter thrown in, but hopefully it transports you!
